At TWS Transport, transport is obviously about vehicles, trailers, schedules and deliveries, but more than anything, it’s about people.
Over the last few years, we’ve worked hard to improve standards across the business and create an environment that people actually enjoy being part of. That doesn’t happen because of one person. It happens because of the collective effort from drivers, operations staff, and everyone else behind the scenes who keeps things moving every single day.
I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge that effort.
The work that goes into running transport properly often goes unnoticed outside the industry. Early starts, late finishes, problem solving under pressure, dealing with traffic, defects, customers, changing plans and tight schedules, it’s constant. Yet despite that, the team continues to pull together and get the job done professionally.
One thing I’m particularly proud of is the attitude many of the team bring to the business. We’ve got some real characters at TWS, and that personality is part of what makes the place what it is. There’s humour, banter and strong relationships throughout the operation, but underneath that there’s also a genuine work ethic and pride in doing things properly.
A lot of effort goes into keeping the fleet and equipment clean, tidy and presentable. Vehicles are a reflection of the company, and many of the drivers take real pride in the kit they use every day. That professionalism matters and it’s appreciated.
The operations team also deserves recognition for the work they put in behind the scenes. Transport can change by the minute, and keeping everything organised while supporting drivers and customers takes patience, commitment and a level head. Much of that work is invisible when things are running smoothly, but it makes a massive difference.
There’s still work to do and improvements to make, as there always will be in this industry, but the progress made so far has only been possible because people have bought into what we’re trying to achieve together.
So, to everyone across the business, thank you. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and I appreciate the part each of you plays in helping move TWS forward.
